TWINS! Are they not the two cutest things you've ever seen? There is something so incredibly special and sacred about photographing babies fresh from heaven. There is truly nothing like it, and honestly, births and fresh 48 sessions are my very favorite type of session to photograph (shhhh, don't tell my brides).

So what is a fresh 48 session? Separate from capturing the actual birth, a fresh 48 is a special photo session that takes place within the first 48 hours after a baby is born, typically in the hospital, birthing center, or at home if it’s a home birth. Unlike a posed newborn session, Fresh 48 sessions focus on capturing those early, raw, and precious moments with minimal staging—tiny details like a baby’s first yawns, stretches, and cuddles with family. It’s a documentary-style session that aims to preserve the emotion and connection of those first hours, celebrating the family’s joy and capturing the unique beauty of meeting a new little one.
