Cheers to 26 years for this amazing couple who decided to commemorate their love lakeside and western themed at the amazing @glasshousemccall . They asked me to simply capture as many candid moments of their friends and family as I could. The energy, the vibe, the laughs, and the good time made for such a fun event to document !

I photographed this couple’s engagement session, their wedding, and now their newborn (cue tears). It was such a full circle moment documenting them love on their sweet new baby girl at the very same venue where they had their wedding a year ago! @scandiahotels

MEDIA MONDAY
Going forward I’m implementing media Monday, a day I’m setting aside for social media, posting, etc. The rest of the week stays MEDIA FREE with the goal to be more present, less distracted, and free from aimlessly scrolling.

Monday night before bed I’ll delete social media off my phone and stay off until the next Monday! And yes I’m posting this on here to keep me accountable for… a month, two? A year? Who knows! Just going to feel it out and see how it goes with no expectations.

I had the honor of capturing the most beautiful wedding day for the most beautiful love story. From knowing each other since elementary school, to knowing they were soulmates by middle school, witnessing these two say “I do” was truly so unforgettable and I’m so grateful I got to be a part of their special day.

Wow… while scrolling through my feed I realized in the decade I’ve been a photographer I’ve never actually given an official introduction of myself… So hey 👋🏼 I’m Noelle! And here are ten facts about me you may or may not know

1. I’ve been married to my best friend for 15 years and we have three beautiful kids.

2. I’ve been a photographer for ten years, and in that time I’ve photographed families, companies, weddings, couples, births, events, and have even had my work displayed on billboards, magazines, and on product packaging in Target!

3. I earned my bachelors degree in Community Health Education. My goal was to get a masters to become a registered pediatric dietician. But, ya know, life and three kids happened, picked up a camera, and the rest (and the degree) is history.

4. I grew up in a small town outside of the Lake Tahoe California area. My childhood home was quite literally a cabin in the woods up a 3 mile dirt road in the middle of nowhere. It took 45 minutes to get to the nearest grocery store, and that’s if we weren’t snowed in for days at a time. I had the most magical, real and wild childhood that I wouldn’t change for anything.

5. I’m in a constant identity crisis with my editing; torn between a moodier film look and/or true to color edits. It’s actually really quite frustrating.

6. IVF momma x5 ( three babies earth side )

7. I’m happiest when I’m enjoying the outdoors with my family. And even happier if there is water involved.

8. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

9. I hate anything seafood or fishy. I legitimately cried, as an adult woman, the last time someone tried to get me to eat a shrimp.

10. Two years ago, my husband and I decided to pack our bags and leave Utah for a change of pace. We landed in McCall Idaho and have completely fallen in love with our town and everything in it!

Happy Tip Tuesday! (Phewf, almost didn’t make the cut today)

Today’s tip is all about how I capture those full of life images. And it’s actually not rocket science. Are you ready… here it is… go into each session with a videographer mindset. Am I a videographer? Nope! But going into it with the MINDSET that I’m shooting video will help me throw prompts at my clients to get them engaged in MOVEMENT, and that’s where the magic happens. Two siblings “hey, can you whisper to your brother your favorite color?”. Bride and groom “will you gently brush her hair behind her ear?”. Dad and toddler “wow I wonder how scratchy dad’s beard is!”.

Each of these “prompts” would make for a dreamy engaging video yeah? But also, a dreamy engaging photo 🤍.

I read something the other day about a reporter who asked a group of elderly women what decade they would relive if they could. Almost every one of them said without hesitating “ my thirties, when I was in the thick of raising my babies”…. This hit me so hard. I’m almost halfway through my 30s, halfway done with raising my oldest…. These truly are the days and I have no doubt I’ll wish more than anything to relive these years someday.

THIS is my why. When capturing families I try my best to capture their love, their joy, their bonds. I want them to look back on these photos in 50 years and instantly be transported back to what they felt in that moment, surrounded by their babies, in the thick of parenthood.

Santa at the Scandia was such a magical experience this year! This is the second year in a row I’ve put it together and I already can’t wait to do it again! But with more and more wedding bookings rolling in, I figured it was high time I invested in a backup camera, and to have two camera bodies with two lenses on me so I don’t miss a single detail of the big day. When the world gets too loud, the noise from politics, and war, and red, and blue, it can easily get overwhelming. When I start to feel that tightening in my chest, anxiousness creeping in, I remind myself to drown out the noise by focusing on the people within the walls of my own home first.

Mother Theresa said it best, “If you want to change the world, go home and love your family”. Look inward and focus on the people closest to you. The world will sort itself out, and never forget there is an amazing, loving, creator who is ultimately in control. 🤍

My oldest often gets mixed in the family shuffle and I don’t get to spend nearly enough one on one time with her. So I schemed up a plan to highjack her from school and do something special just for her.

She has been obsessed with fairies lately so I thought, how fun would it be to create a fairy garden together! A quick trip to the thrift store, a little foraging for stones and bark outside, some shopping for accessories online and voila, we created the fairy garden of our dreams. We had SO much fun together got the quality time we have both been craving. Love you my girl ❤️

First birth story here in McCall and wow, I truly have no words. It was such an honor being invited to capture this sweet baby boy’s first chapter.

Wait, did they actually? Yeah they did, they jumped into Payette Lake fully clothed in their suit and wedding dress. This adventurous couple purposefully did their formals AFTER their wedding day, just so they could get that signature shot to hang on their wall, as a totem to their future children to live fearlessly and in the moment.

Also, black and white? Who even am I….

Exactly one year since we packed our bags and left everything we knew in search of something new. McCall has been full of surprises + challenges + so many firsts + HUGE leaps of faith. We have truly loved this chapter and can’t wait to find out what else Idaho has to throw at us ♡
